Recipe from my mother-in-law. Most delicious way to make rutabaga. Don't get turnips by mistake, they are too bitter.

- 1 large rutabaga peeled and cut into ~1" cubes
- ¼ cup butter
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar
Boil the cubed rutabaga in water until soft, about 20 min. Drain, then mash with a potato masher. Mix in butter and brown sugar. Taste and add more brown sugar and butter as desired. Season with ground black pepper.
