Tasty salad that my mother-in-law always made

- ½ head iceberg lettuce chopped
- ½ head romaine lettuce chopped
- 3 green onions chopped
- ¼ cup celery chopped
- 1 can Mandarin oranges drained
For Caramelized Almonds
- ¼ cup slivered almonds
- 1 Tbs butter
- 1 tsp sugar
For Dressing
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbs sugar
- ¼ cup vinegar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 Tbs parsley chopped
Combine almonds, butter and sugar in frying pan. Stir to caramelize over medium low heat until almonds are lightly browned. Remove from pan and spread on parchment or waxed paper to cool
Combine salad ingredients and toss with almonds.
Combine dressing ingredients in a jar and mix/shake. Server over salad.
