This is a recipe that I got from my mom. Best fried chicken ever, delicious with honey drizzled cornbread 😉
Ingredients
- 1 cutup chicken
- 1½ sticks Crisco shortening
- ⅓ cup flour
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp Bell's Seasonings
Instructions
- Combine flour, salt, pepper and seasoning in a one gallon zipper bag. Add chicken and shake well.
- Melt Crisco in electric frying pan at 375°F, Add chicken and brown well on all sides for about 10 minutes. Crisco should be ¼-½" deep.
- Reduce heat to 300°F and continue cooking partially covered for 35 minutes. Turn occasionally until done.
Notes
The original recipe used 1T salt, but I found that to be a bit salty so decreased it a bit.
