Greek Lamb Meatballs

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 small red onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp parsley finely chopped
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp oregano dried
  • ½ tsp dill
  • ¼ tsp mint
  • 1 small lemon zest grated
  • 1 large egg

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 ℉
  • In a bowl mix together meat, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, spices and egg. Use your hands to combine well. Set aside for 5 minutes.
  • Divide the mixture into 20 small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Turn broiler on low and place rack at highest position. Bake for 7 minutes, then flip the meatballs over then bake for another 7 minutes until browned and cooked through.

Notes

I served mine with warmed naan bread drizzled with olive oil and they were delicious.
